Chris is: CEO of Silverback Social, Author, Television Commentator, Producer of the Westchester Digital Summit
Hi. My name is Chris. I figured since I'm the one writing this, I should ditch speaking about myself in the third person. So here it goes:
I'm a new generation entrepreneur. I follow my bliss, which led me to create Silverback Social. We're a social media agency. I've been in digital marketing since 2000.
I create things. Last year when I identified a problem that there was no major digital summit in Westchester, NY I bought the URL Westchesterdigitalsummit.com and produced one. Forbes Named it One of the "Four Lesser-Known Conferences That Deserve Your Attention in 2013"
I have big ideas. I wrote a book about social media, which I used as a tool to communicate my manifesto that social media is much more of a spiritual awakening rather than a technological one. It shot to #1 on Amazon’s “hot new releases” in its first two weeks.
People trust my opinion on social/digital media. I regularly appear on television. MSNBC, Fox News, Good Day New York, FOX BUSINESS's Varney &Co, CNN, Inside Edition & CNBC. I’ve been quoted in Mashable, & have lectured to the United States Marines aboard the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum. I’m also a featured contributor on Social Media Today.
I find joy in teaching. I keynote sales conferences & love helping sales people realize how powerful social media can be to generate sales. I lecture to students at schools like Loyola University Maryland, Marist College, Manhattanville College, and at Harrisburg University of Science & Technology's Social Media Summit.
I believe in myself. I was selected by the Business Council of Westchester’s 40 under 40, because I nominated myself. Seriously.
I love to give back. Last year I was host of "Social Week Gives Back" a 5-day event in conjunction with The City of New York, The Pivot Conference, The Tomorrow Project, and Vanguarde Consulting Group. The event was focused on educating small businesses on the fundamentals of social marketing success.
I purchased this URL back in 2008 when I decided I wanted to be involved in social media. Even though Facebook didn't hire me, I think It's worked out pretty well.
