FACEBOOK DIDN'T HIRE ME! :-)

Chris is: Thrilled to say he followed his passion, trusted his DNA and landed a phenomenal job in Social Media at Buddy Media!

UPDATE: I followed my passion, and while I didn't get a job with Facebook; the exposure this site offered assisted in my persuit of the perfect job in the Social Media space at Buddy Media.  I'm excited to say that I'm through with "soul crushing" jobs, and I'm loving every second at my new gig!

I also blog at ChristopherDessi.com regarding Social Media, where I take an objective look at how you can leverage Social Media for your business today, and even in your search for the perfect job.  I believe in the value of engaging your users where they spend the most time online (in the Social Media ecosystem). I've become much more engaged in the Twitter community as well, and see tremendous value for businesses who want to engage in a dialogue with their consumers by leveraging this powerful tool. Follow me! @cdessi

If you ended up here because you're currently unemployed the only advice I can give you is to follow you're passion. Figure out what you love, and do it. The money will come.  I'm passionate about social media, and created this site on a whim.  It helped.  A great deal.  Now go follow you're passion!

Also, I'm considering the sale of this URL. Please email me at chrisdessi@gmail.com if you would like to learn more.

Finally, if you're a small company that is curious about Social Media and wants to learn more please visit consulting firm Look Up Interactive, LLC.

Here is what I had on the home page originally:

Thursday March 12, 2009 the company I worked for was bought by a competitor. Monday March 16, 2009 I was let go. Friday March 20, 2009 I applied for a Sales Director position at Facebook.com. Sunday March 22, 2009 I read a blog post (via Twitter) about an extraordinary person named Jamie Varon (@jamievaron).  Jamie started a website called www.twittershouldhireme.com.  Inspired, I decided to start this site.  Thank you Jamie! Twitter should hire you immediately!

Jamie started a job search revolution with one brilliant idea. She's extraordinary.  The folks over at Facebook are extraordinary as well.

After spending too much time pursuing jobs that offer good monetary compensation, and fancy titles, I've had it.  I'm 34 years old, married and have a gorgeous daughter to provide for, but my focus has shifted.  I can't continue working at soul crushing companies and seeking only monetary reward. I need to find a place where I can be surrounded by like minded, positive and inspired people.

I don't know how to write HTML, but I'm intrigued by the tools that allow me to produce this website in only a few hours. I am a sales/marketing guy, and I'm a student of the internet. I've sold CPC, CPA, and CPM successfully over the past 11 years of my career. I'm obsessive about new technology and I love to blog about my family, the newest gadget I covet or about companies I believe will change our world.  I'm thirsty for knowledge, and I'm scrappy. I'm passionate, and intense with a burning desire to excel.  I'll be the first one in in the morning and the last one to leave at night.  I never cut corners, and I never play political games. I'm truthful, authentic and can communicate well. Being let go twice in one year (after leaving a job I loved to pursue money and a title) has shaken me to the core. I'm humbled and ready to learn.

I'm ready to be passionate about my work again.

Mark Zuckerberg is changing the way we interact with other human beings.  I want to be around people that have passion, are changing the world for the better and as Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) would say "Bring the Thunder". Check out www.winelibrary.tv or www.garyvaynerchuk.com - it'll change your life.

This site is going to change mine.

Recap: It DID.
